Extreme Scale Systems
Hardware and Software Architectures for Extreme Scale Systems
This WP focuses on hardware & software architectures for extreme scale systems. Currently two projects are run, related to each other, one oriented towards the adaption of applications, tools, and middleware for supercomputers management, another on a domain specific language (NabLab: github.com/cea-hpc/NabLab) for applications development and adaptation.
The researcher’s team will adapt tools and applications to the Modular Supercomputer Architecture (MSA), further develop the NabLab environment, and enlarge the set of MSA and NabLab users. The researcher’s team will select applications and runtime use cases, in order to use NabLab and tools on these use cases. The next step is to profile, optimize and test applications on NabLab and MSA, analyze the results and use this experience to write a document on best practices and lessons learned (cookbook for further users).
This work is related to three European projects; DEEP-EST (www.deep-projects.eu), DEEP-SEA and EUPEX (proposition for the EuroHPC call “Advanced pilots towards the European supercomputers” EuroHPC-2020-01-a, eurohpc-ju.europa.eu/calls/advanced-pilots-towards-european-exascale-supercomputers-pilot-quantum-simulator.)
